At Stonewall Jackson Camp 83's August meeting, new officers were elected to continue leading the Camp and rebuilding the legacy of this Historic Organization. The new officers were installed at the 12 September 2007 meeting. Florida Division First Lieutenant Commander and Gen'l Wm. Wing Loring Camp Adjutant James S. Davis conducted the installation of officers and the Children of the Confederacy was represented by Savannah Dobbs of the Gertrude B. Mathews Chapter, Florida Division, CofC located right here in Jacksonville and Florida Division Second Vice President Courtney Spargur. Please take a few moments and browse through our Photo Gallery below.
As a matter of interest in Camp activities, you may also want to check out our 2007 Confederate Memorial Service and our recent Confederate Headstone Cleaning activities. These Soldiers had never had a memorial Service and their headstones had never been cleaned. Stonewall Jackson Camp 83 provided the first of each for these men!
If you are interested in our Camp and what we are doing, feel free to read our online newsletter, "Dixie!". The name was actually derived from an early 20th Century newspaper entitled "Dixie!" which was published for about 5 years right here in Jacksonville, Florida. Just as their motto was true for their time, we hold it true today... "If it's right, we're for it!"
Two other items that you may find of interest are located in our "Documents Archive" folder. Though this page is an ongoing work, it currently holds a couple of historical SCV documents. Both the 1902 USCV Constitution and the 1909 USCV Constitution are currently online and viewable in PDF format. In order to view these files, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader or some other software capable of viewing PDF files installed on your system.
